Pay Table

Pay tables refer to payout lists that can be found on machines of slots or video poker. These tables show the amount of coins a bettor can win for every symbol combination and amount of coins used to bet.

Where to Find Pay tables

On several new reel machines and on the older machines, pay tables can be found on the machines themselves, either below or above the area where the wheels can be found.

Every machine comes with a pay table, which lists the amount of credits a player will get when the symbols on the list line up within the machine's pay line. These pay tables detail where symbols need to be in order for a bettor to get any money. Generally, these symbols need to directly center underneath the machine's pay line. Machines of video slots, however, will generally just display winning lines.

About Pay lines

Pay lines refer to zigzagged or straight lines that cross a symbol on every slot machine's reel or a symbol combination on the reels that the player gets paid for whenever he makes that particular combination bet. To win any reel combination, a minimum of two symbols have to be in one row, while the very first symbol shows up on the very first reel. In other cases, combinations will not get paid out.

Several machines provide wild symbols that will get paid out whenever they become visible, even if the pay line isn't the part they are in. Such wild symbols might count for other pay table symbols, as well.

The majority of video machines will show the pay table if the player pushes the button labeled "payable" on their screen, though some will have them listed on top of their cabinet, too.
